Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Paris

The Short Version

I am Marc Lefevre, living in Paris, and over the past several years I’ve chronicled my experiences at fitness clubs across France.

This site came about after I grew weary of selecting gyms from ads and general suggestions, only to find the reality didn’t match. I wanted precise, candid details about what these venues were really like. Not finding that, I chose to build it myself.

Over a dozen Gyms Visited
three Years Active
well over two hundred Classes Attended

How This Started

My workout routine began at a small gym near 12 Rue de la Santé in Paris. It wasn’t ideal, yet it was reachable, affordable, and it helped me stay consistent.

After that place shut down, I saw how fast the fitness landscape in France was changing. New studios opened, new approaches emerged, and marketing grew louder than actual member experiences.

I began testing various gyms and classes, jotting down observations after each visit. Eventually those notes formed this site, aimed at helping others make more informed choices.

My Approach to Reviews

Each review here reflects genuine visits and time spent within the facility. I concentrate on practical details that matter when selecting a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Take ample time to grasp routines, busy times, and typical patterns
  • Visit on various days and times
  • Experiment with different training formats and trainers
  • Regularly use facilities to assess cleanliness and comfort
  • SÂlk with other members about consistency
  • Make notes right after each visit

I revise reviews when there are major changes: renovations, changes in management, price shifts, or new amenities. Every article displays its most recent update date so you can gauge currentness.

What I Look For

My priorities may differ from yours, so here’s what I value most when assessing a gym:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel thoughtfully arranged for members, with clear boundaries and a serene vibe?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-kept? Is there sufficient variety? Are repairs prompt?

Crowd Management: Can you train at your preferred times without excessive waits?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness reflects how seriously management takes the member experience.

Honest Membership Practices: Clear pricing, straightforward rules, and no surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Outside of training and writing, I reside and work in Paris. This project aims to simplify fitness decisions and provide clearer information for those seeking the right setting.
